Fired Up

What exactly does Eason Jordan have to say in order to get himself in trouble with his superiors at CNN...  or at least to get some criticism from the rest of the leftist media?  His accusation about the military supposedly targetting journalists in Iraq is just the latest stain on his reputation:

Shouldn't this guy have been fired a long time ago?  If he were a right-winger, does anyone doubt for a second that he would no longer be drawing a paycheck from Time Warner?  Yes, I realize that is a bit of an absurd question, in that it assumes conservatives would even be allowed to work there in the first place.  Hell, another CNN employee has gotten into more trouble over simply dating a conservative.  Yet, Eason Jordan doesn't even get a slap on the wrist...  and neither does his minion, Chris Cramer.

Update: Well, Eason Jordan has suddenly resigned...  I thought for sure that this would play out a bit more like Rathergate did.  Maybe the muckety-mucks at Time Warner thought so too, and decided to just skip to the end...  though this makes me wonder if they got a heads-up about something even more embarrassing about to hit the fan.  I still say this guy had no business being at CNN for as long as he was, especially being so high up the food chain.

That's an intriguing theory that there was something even more embarrassing about to hit the fan, but I'm having a hard time imagining anything more embarrassing than Jordan having told a bunch of clapping foreigners that the US military deliberately kills journalists. Although from CNN's point of view, it might have been worse if Jordan had admitted to voting Republican.
